YouthVoiceNYC (YVNYC) is a youth-led program of the Resilience Advocacy Project focused on youth mobilization and leadership. Our youth leaders identify community-level problems impacting them, like school discipline policies, stop & frisk, and food justice, and develop both online and offline campaigns in response. They work together to mobilize other teens to get involved in fighting for social justice through community events, meetings with city leaders and policy makers, a youth blog, advocacy workshops and trainings, and other youth-led mobilization initiatives.

The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is the coordinating committee of YVNYC made up completely of New York City youth. The YLC is responsible for selecting the issue priorities of YouthVoiceNYC and developing sustainable campaign goals around those issues. Check out our Past Campaigns to get a better sense of YLC's previous work. YLC members play a key role in the planning and execution of advocacy projects related to the YVNYC campaign. Our current members are:

  • Samuel Pugo
